The Dayton River Corridor Classic Half Marathon presented by The Premier HeartCare Network great experiment is over. We had to change the route this year due to the construction of the baseball stadium which had much of our previous course impassible. The change in location and course was not easy for us or for you. Although, the Dayton River Corridor Classic Half Marathon presented by The Premier HeartCare Network had great weather and a great course we had problems. Our start was delayed by an OVERWHELMING race day sign up response. So much so we were caught with our medals down! Not to worry everyone will recieve a handsome finisher's medallion. We will mail it to you....yes by snail mail since handsome finisher medallions don't travel well digitally. We also acknowledge problems with the race day packet pick up. To be truthful, the combination of a new location and tremendous race day signup overwhelmed our planning. It also caused us to run out of bananas! We hate running out of things because the runners who suffer are usually the back of the pack runners like me. I know how frustrating that is. The Miami Valley Hospital Sports Medicine Center 5K Run/Walk also experienced some finish line problems. which we will fix.
Despite these problems, we have recieved great reviews about the race and the course. However, we need more information to better meet your running needs and to resolve this years shortcomings. Shortly, you will be recieving a postage paid survey, please fill it out and return it.
Because we had to change the course because of the construction, the River Corridor Classic presented by Premier HeartCare Network, partnered with The Dayton Art Institute Annual Oktoberfest to provide participants not only a great race, but also a fantastic post race party. The Dayton Art Institute Oktoberfest is regionally known for great food, great entertainment, soothing refreshments and world class art!
